Taglines or slogans are essential elements to your overall message and serve to help position your brand.
A memorable catchphrase in the form of a slogan or tagline can help emotionally engage your external audiences, crystallize what you stand for with internal audiences and help your brand cut through the clutter.
The right slogan or tagline complements the messaging evoked by your brand name. For instance, a functional tagline will help clarify a more abstract name while an aspirational one can help elevate a more descriptive or straightforward name.
Is there a difference between slogans and taglines?
Both taglines and slogans are short statements that identify your brand but, technically, they are different. Taglines are more permanent and reinforce your brand by conveying the tone and feeling you want for your products and services. The most successful taglines become synonymous with brand names and logos. Just do it is one of the most famous taglines ever and is still being used by Nike 30 years later.
Slogans, on the other hand, are more temporary and are normally tied to a specific marketing effort. The word slogan comes from a Scottish word meaning “battle cry.” Different slogans can be used for different marketing "battles," or campaigns. While a tagline is used consistently and is only changed for a large company rebranding, a slogan can be changed fairly often to highlight a specific aspect of a product, service or business. Slogans tend to express brand strategies, such as the brand promise or unique selling proposition. Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there is an example of a famous slogan, although it has basically become the insurance giant's tagline too. Coca-Cola has had dozens of slogans over the years to focus on different aspects of the brand: It’s the real thing, Coke adds life, Open Happiness, Taste the Feeling.
Despite these differences, many people use the terms "tagline" and "slogan" interchangeably. Unless you note otherwise, we'll assume that we need to create a powerful catchphrase that encapsulates your unique selling proposition and brand values. We'll let you determine exactly how or where you end up using it.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I really need to do that project brief? Can't we just "wing it?"
The project briefs help streamline the entire process. The questions we ask in the brief documents are critical not just for the branding process, but also for your business vision. Many clients have thanked us for sending them the brief as it forced them to think about their business in ways that hadn't previously considered. Brand development is inherently an iterative process and this process starts with a solid brief from our clients.
Why are your prices so affordable? That “XYZ firm" quoted me that 5x more!
We're remote with low overhead so we pass those savings directly on to you. Plus, this stuff is fun!
What if I don’t like the options you send?
If you feel that the options we’ve sent don’t respond to your needs or if you would like to see additional ideas, we will send another round of work at no additional fee.
How long does it normally take?
We're quick. We usually send the first round of first options within 2-3 business days once we've received payment and the completed project brief.
Do you trademark my slogan/tagline for me?
No, that's your jurisdiction. We'll do a check to make sure it's not being used by some famous brand with a massive team of lawyers but you'll need to legally register your slogan or tagline with a service like Trademarkia.
Some of the other companies I checked out seem to work solely via email. Can we speak to you during the project if we need to?
Of course! You can reach us at 1-844-438-4478 or on Skype- username: thesloganshop. In addition, we always respond to emails at info@thesloganshop with lightning-fast speed.
Do you provide refunds?
Unless you were to cancel an order before work has actually begun, we don't provide refunds. Keep in mind that we're not a crowd-sourcing service. We spend quality time on these projects and we're committed to delivering the results you deserve.
Will I get full ownership of the work you produce?
Yes. All of our projects are “for hire” meaning that you will own the intellectual property rights to the name, slogan or tagline that you choose.
My stuff is confidential. Can you sign a confidentiality or NDA agreement?
Absolutely. If confidentiality is an issue for you, we’re happy to sign an NDA and we will always respect your confidentiality in the process.
I don’t have a Paypal account. Can I just pay with a credit card?
Yes, the Paypal gateway accepts credit card payments, even if you don’t have a Paypal account (and without having to create an account.)
Any other ways to pay?
Bank transfers are acceptable as well. Bank details provided upon request.
This sounds great, but I’m still nervous. Can I just pay you afterward?
No, our prices are super affordable to begin with. And since our work is word-based, we don't have much protection if we were to just send off the next “Just Do It” without being paid anything.
Do you only develop slogans and names for only businesses?
No! We've done work for politicians, authors, filmmakers, life coaches, lawyers...just to name a few. These projects are exciting and always welcomed here!
Do you work with international clients?
Certainly. We've worked with over fifteen countries over the years. Although we're based in the US, we have extensive experience in global branding and we love our overseas clients!
